Corey: In that case, maybe you could build
on Eva's work by adding alternative 3D
interpolation algorithms? I was thinking
RBF and something suitable for interpolating
categorical data from 3D point samples, such
as transitional probabilities?

I am new at mailing list, but I deal with 3D kriging module for GRASS
GIS as a PhD student for my dissertation thesis. The module enables
to krige 2D and also 3D data (using 3D variogram), nowadays I
continue testing and optimizing performance to make the module
appropriate for publishing for other users.
