I will try to test again, but it can't be closed, see the 'remaining problems' part. There are also 2 bugs, which I think may have the same origin https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/3200 (missing color table thumbnails, problem in g.ppmtopng) https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/ticket/3156 (problem in r.out.png) all these bugs have in common, that the problems appears only on Windows and the problem is somewhere in C, so it's difficult to debug. It would be nice to get that fixed, but it's not a blocker.
