Frank, your initial contribution was r.in.gdal on Sep 26, 2000: https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/changeset/1688 r.in.gdal got released the first time with GRASS GIS 5.0: https://grass.osgeo.org/announces/announce_grass50beta10.html ... 18 years ago!
