David A. Hastings wrote in "The Geographic Information Systems: GRASS HOWTO" (Nov. 1997) the following description on p. 10: "The Spearfish data base covers two 7.5 minute topographic sheets in the northern Black Hills of South Dakota, USA. It is in the Universal Transverse Mercator Projection. It was originally created by Larry Batten (now of the Environmental Systems Research Institute's office in Boulder, Colorado) while he was with the U. S. Geological Survey's EROS Data Center in South Dakota. The data base was enhanced by USA/CERL and cooperators." So: Larry Batten , USGS EROS Data Center in South Dakota and USA/CERL and cooperators. Here the PDF https://tldp.org/HOWTO/pdf/GIS-GRASS.pdf but it is also at bottom of this page: https://tldp.org/HOWTO/GIS-GRASS/index.html Cheers, Markus _______________________________________________ grass-psc mailing list grass-psc@lists.osgeo.org https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/grass-psc
