As you see - the data are 3D! I run g.region vect=streets_wake res=100 -pa v.drape in=streets_wake rast=elev_state_500m method=bilinear out=streets3d # r.mapcalc sealevel=0 nviz el=sealevel vect=streets3d Looks pretty much 3D (sorry for flat terrain there...).
