Welcome back, Stefania. It took an extra Google Summer of Code project to get a new good 2D v.buffer module... I recently had a look at O'Rourke's book "Computational Geometry in C" and I found 3D topology rather tricky :) Did you find any GPL'ed functions which could be recycled?
