fyi, on debian/lenny with ffmpeg etc pacakges from the debian-
multimedia (non-free) repo I needed to have
--with-ffmpeg --with-ffmpeg-includes="/usr/include/ffmpeg
/usr/include/ffmpeg/libavcodec /usr/include/ffmpeg/libavformat
/usr/include/ffmpeg/libswscale"
and install the libavcodec-dev, libavformat-dev, and libswscale-dev pacakges.
looking in config.log and using 'apt-file search filename.h'
got me there.
