hmph. that appears to be a long-standing bug no one noticed before...
hopefully fixed in GRASS 6.5svn r37350 and grass7 in r37351. I think it
needs some testing before backporting to 6.4, as I'm a bit exhausted today
and so don't guarantee code quality.
