But I > don't think the error is connected with these version. the latest from ubuntuGIS repo are: libgdal1-1.6.0_1.6.2-3~jaunty1 grass_6.4.0~rc5-3~jaunty1 qgis_1.3.0-1~jaunty3 all three need to be updated & in sync. You can't use a latest QGIS with an older GDAL library.
