Hello, if You use GRASS from within QGIS, You should contact QGIS developers, as GRASS support in QGIS is developed by QGIS developers and not GRASS'ers.
I have not used Ubuntu, still in KDE with KWin I can drag around windows by holding Alt key. Probably helps.
