If either of the files $HOME/GIS_ERROR_LOG or $GIS_ERROR_LOG exist,
errors and warnings (but not messages) from GRASS commands will be
written to that file.

Or you can just capture all output from any command (including a
script) by appending "&>logfile" to the command.
