Hi Lee, this is bit off topic but you mentioned that you are returning to GRASS, and as d.mon user you may be interested in the fact that in GRASS 7 there is no `d.mon x0` but `d.mon wx0` which is wxPython-based and in fact similar to Map Display in the main GRASS GUI (wxGUI).
