Hi Vaclav,

Happy to stay on list. I'm grateful for all the help I've received here.

So, the problem is not with compilation. GRASS64 was working well on my system (except for v.dissolve and lib gmath, see other list issues). Oddly, when I mistakenly entered d.mon wx0 it not only didn't work (which should be expected), it disabled all the other monitor options (seemingly permanently). When I changed to another location the problem persisted which really surprised me.

Fortunately I have other machines to work on, but this is my primary machine for a large research project that emphasized GRASS. I'm in the process of moving to GRASS7, but I couldn't get it to compile on this machine (Markus N is helping me with that), so I stayed with GRASS64.

Thanks, Dave

    Hi Vaclav,

Thanks for your help. I'm running Scientific Linux 6
(EL6-based). when I enter d.mon x0 it says there is no such monitor.

Isn't there some problem with compilation? I'm not sure if this is even
possible but maybe compilation can be set in the way that no monitors
are included.

    The command

    d.mon -l

    generates

    no known monitors

Hm, now I understand what you are saying, -l behavior differs for 6 and 7.

So, no x0-9, no png, no nothing.

    Thanks, Dave

        What happens if you write

        ?

Note that X monitors does not work on MS Windows.

Thanks. I do understand that. But now I have no X

this is not possible in G6. Here d.mon works with
