Thank you Moritz for your reply. Yes, I finally tried to make a new
location with a proj.4 chain rather than the epsg code picker, and it
works fine.
The source of this "error" is very surprising, as much as the few
reactions it's been triggering !
Well, not sure this is really an "error", or rather an issue about how
exactly to define this "pseudo-mercator" projection system.
In any case, it seems to me to be more a gdal issue than a grass issue.
I guess https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/ticket/3962 is related to this.
