Which version of Mac OS X are you on? I recall having a similar problem, related to "gettext", with OS 10.9. In my case, this solved the problem (requires an Internet connection): 1. Go to http://brew.sh/ and install "brew", then: 2. in the Terminal, issue: brew install gettext 3. Try compiling again.
