I have found a temporary solution to the editing source code error. Go to http://qwhale.net/, download the latest qwhale release and install it. If you go to the qwhale installation folder you will see some dll files that match some files from the grasshopper folder. Replace the grasshopper ones with the qwhale ones. Now the editor will open when you double click a scripting component, the problem is this is an evaluation version only available for 30 days. But I'm sure David Rutten won't take that long to fix it properly.
