Dear all, due to the plethora of Grasshopper loading errors we've received over the past week, we bumped the installer to the top of the to-do list.
Grasshopper version 0.5.0070 is now available as a download from: http://download.rhino3d.com/download_rel.asp?rel=403 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since this is the first 'installable' version of Grasshopper, you have to make sure that all the old files are gone before you run the installer: - Make sure Rhino is not running, since it will not allow you to delete Grasshopper files which are currently loaded. - Delete all the grasshopper files/folders on your machine. See the bottom of this post for a list of Grasshopper related files and folders. - Start Rhino and run the Grasshopper command. If the command is invalid, you've successfully removed Grasshopper. If not, use the PluginManager to see where Grasshopper is being loaded from and remove those files as well. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This version adds almost no functionality to the product, so if you currently have a working setup, it might be wise to hang back and see what happens to those few brave souls who decide to test the very first version of a software installation... Grasshopper files: - Grasshopper.dll (this file hasn't been distributed for a while, it is similar to Grasshopper.rhp) - Grasshopper.rhp (the plugin main file) - GH_IO.dll (Grasshopper Input/Output library) - GH_IO.xml (comments for GH_IO.dll) - CSharpOpenGL.dll (library for ultra-fast drawing of grasshopper point objects) - GH_IO_Viewer.exe (utility application to parse/examine gh and ghx files) - QWhale.Common.dll - QWhale.Editor.dll - QWhale.Syntax.dll - QWhale.Syntax.Parsers.dll - QWhale.Syntax.Schemes.dll - ****.ehc (Component library, file format has been replaced by *.gha) - ****.gha (Grasshopper assembly) Grasshopper folders: - Components\ (folder that contains the default component libraries (gha files) that ship with Grasshopper) - Icons\ (folder containing three windows icon files; GH_Assembly.ico, GH_Binary.ico, GH_Xml.ico) - Cursors\8bit\ (folder containing a set of windows cursor files used on pre-XP OS versions) - Cursors\32bit\ (folder containing a set of windows cursor files used on XP+ OS versions) Make sure all these files and folders are deleted prior to installing Grasshopper 0.5.0070 -- David Rutten Robert McNeel & Associates
