if VB never makes it to the Mac, then neither will Grasshopper since
it's written in VB.NET.
You're right about python scripting on Mac, it will most likely be the
language of choice. For Rhino5 on Windows, we're adding support for
many other languages as well, including IronPython.

I hesitate to give you advice on this, but I think I can safely tell
you to postpone any decisions until the Python component is back in
Grasshopper.
