It's because you're creating boxes of 0 width. The same thing happened
to me when I baked my cat:

This is how i solved it:
http://grasshopper3d.googlegroups.com/web/filterboxes.jpg
The selected components filter the 0 width boxes.

I think rhino shouldn't crash since this is would be a pretty common
mistake and it should be error checked.
