I know Grasshopper is not supposed to be used for iterative fractal shape generation. But, we could not resist. Rajaa Issa and I got together this sample of a fractal curve generator.
There are two versions. The first one is simple. It takes a Generator polyline curve and applies it to a Base curve for a certain number of iterations: http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/content/upload/files/Fractal_Curves.zip The second definition is a little more complex. It will take a set of points as the base shape and a set of points to use as the generator points. Then it takes a curve and transforms it into a point field. It is more flexible, but takes a bit more input. http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/content/upload/files/Fractal_Transform.zip Both of these are based on a VB fractal component in the definition included in the definition files.
