Frank, that problem has been with us for a long time, but it became much more common in a recent build for some reason. I only just yesterday figured out what was going wrong, and there will be a fix for this in the next release. In the meantime, whenever it happens, you have to move your mouse over the Grasshopper menu, then specifically close it.
