join order

Does any one know the trick to keeping the proper list sequence when  
joining multiple curves?

I'm joining about 5 different lists of curves that originally followed  
the same sequence but once joined the sequence is completely random.   
I know the sequence changes based upon the order that I plug them into  
the join component but none of the configuration give me what I expect.
