thanks, I'm on it.

The reason I removed the Expression String input is because of
performance. Having to deal with a new string every time was taking up
a lot of cycles, but maybe that's less important than I thought. Would
it help if the Expression was visible on the component itself? I could
override the display for this particular component to make it look a
bit more sexy...
