Well, Visose, i can understand why you think so and I believe your opinion may prevail in some people outside China who may have been overwhelmed by the seeming economic power of China especially in the current circumstance.
I think you may have mistakenly equated ecnomic achievement of a nation with all the rest aspects of a nation's achievement which might be far more important than economic achievement. You may have no idea of the extent that China's social morality has decayed by utilitarianism since the Cultural Revelotion. My friend used to tell me that the Westerners got it all wrong by accusing China of no democracy and liberty. China does have few democracy but we have all kinds of liberty which means you can do whatever you want here because our laws are all flexible and are subject to human manipulation. And I don't think you should believe what China's leaders said on TV as they're just fu*king politicians like those in all the other countries, which means they're "professional liars". China continue to buy US national debt not out of benevolence but because if we don't continue to support US dollar it will depreciate and that'll cause even more cost as China's foreigh currency reserve shrinks. China is still far away from a country that can take the responsibility that is consistent with her national strength. It may take a long time for China to grow into a matured country who will not boycott Carrefour sentimentally simply because others criticize the absence of democracy and other fundamental problems in China. I hope you don't mistake my points as I'm NOT a guy brainwashed by some western ideologies although I've been studying abroad for more than six years. I just want to encourage you to think beyond those superficial phenomenons regarding China's growth.
