Where is a good place to ask strategy questions about free ACCRC pc's? I am in contact with a first year 3rd grade teacher at Wilson Elementary in Richmond about this matter. Before we had the benefit of James Burgett's advice at SVLUG not to go to school administrators but to move independently she went to her principle and also asked the school pc person and got little enthusiasm as predicted. The school has pc's bolted to desks with some not working. I offered to install Ubunto on one of the latter.
Because of the economy she is being sent away from Wilson to another school in the county. What might she do? Wait until she has the new job? Maybe apply for personal pc's for her students in the name of their parents? Seems a long shot, they are only 3rd graders but this is a real world problem for her students.
