If its crucial is to go 3d, instead of using NVIZ you might alternatively try Paraview: 0) Install Paraview 1) export your 3d vectors with v.out.vtk. 2) Start Paraview 3) Load the vtk-file (+ DEMs, etc etc) 4) 3d !
