Subject: [graylog2] UI feedback
Hi,
I recently installed graylog 0.20.2-rc1 and run it in addition to the graylog
0.11.0
I prefer the old UI over the new one, it was easier to browse the logs (less
additional clicks).
It would be great if the new UI could be optimized to be as useful as the old
one.
Here are the things I noticed:
- login is needed every day again, old UI can remember login much longer
- no logs are shown on the startpage, I need to click the search icon to see
the recent messages
- useful columns like Level and Facility are not selected by default,
additional clicks needed to add them. (also it would be nice to have them in
the same order as in the old UI)
- "sources" (was "hosts") :
- no more sparklines
- clicking a host name does not trigger search but just puts it into the
search box, I need to select time range and then click search again to see the
logs
- dashboards: this is a cool new feature
- I added such a quickvalue widget with the top loggers which output errors.
Unfortunately the list items are not clickable on the dashboard. Also to
select/copy strings from this widget into the search box is not working very
well, probably because it continuously updates and loses the selected text then.
