We don't support explicit queries that result in one aggregated value for the only reason that it currently does not fit into the way we display search results. Of course it can be implemented, and part of it (like averages) is already implemented by selecting the field in the sidebar, and choosing the statistics button.
More free-form support will be added in a future version, but that needs more detail work on how we display the results.
