You can achieve this with a search over the timeframe you are interested in.
Then select the gear icon next to the field you want (it's in the side
bar). Choose the quick values button.
The popup shows you the top 50 (which is currently not configurable) values.

Unfortunately this is not possible on a dashboard yet, but we are
looking to improve it for a future version.
