my configuration looks like this and is working fine
search base dn => dc=mydomain,dc=com
user search pattern => (&(memberof=CN=graylog user
group,OU=some,OU=organizational,OU=unit,DC=subdomain,DC=mydomain,DC=com)(sAMAccountName={0}))
