The setup i have used is Amazon ec2 AMI from the graylog documentation. after spinning up this server and able to open graylog web interface. (Opened ports incoming for 12201 (TCP and UDP), and port 80)
I followed following steps: 1. Added graypy to my EC2 instance running django, gunicorn. and configured Django setttings.py to have the graypy.GELFHandler configuration. (Here i tried hostname as both EC2 DNS as well as the VPC IP address directly) 2. i restarted Django server. 3. Created GELF TCP and UDP inputs (tried both VPC IP Address and Amazon ec2 DNS). 3. No log messages were captured into the GELF inputs. Nor did i see any uncaptured messages.
