Hi Phil, unfortunately Graylog2 0.20.x is a very ancient version and there's no tried and tested migration path to Graylog 1.3.x. In the end you'd have to upgrade to Elasticsearch 1.7.x (which involves converting the underlying Lucene indices), running some modifications on the MongoDB database used by Graylog, and finally verifying that everything still works as expected.
Ultimately, I think setting up a complete new Graylog environment (see http://docs.graylog.org/en/1.3/pages/installation.html) is much less hassle than trying to upgrade the existing ancient environment. If you want to give it a try, make sure to read the Graylog change log entries at http://docs.graylog.org/en/1.3/pages/changelog.html and the linked blog posts which include upgrade information for each released major version.
