Upgrading in-place from 1.0 to 2.0 will take many hours. Unless you have
a heavily customized installation, or your existing data is incompatible
with ES 2.0, it will be easier to install a 2.0 OVA from scratch.
If you insist, note that upgrade documentation is somewhat dispersed, I
suggest looking at all the announcements in the graylog blog as well as
searching the mailing list.
I'd suggest attempting an upgrade to 1.3.4 first (the packages for the
intermediate versions are no longer available):
wget
https://packages.graylog2.org/releases/graylog-omnibus/ubuntu/graylog_1.3.4-2_amd64.deb
sudo graylog-ctl stop
sudo dpkg -G -i graylog_latest.deb
sudo graylog-ctl reconfigure
And only then consider upgrading to 2.0:

sudo passwd graylog
