Hi Adam, I guess you are referring to the Graylog appliance. We have some documentation on how to change from dhcp to static ip over here: http://docs.graylog.org/en/2.0/pages/installation/graylog_ctl.html#assign-a-static-ip Usually you can use sudo (not su, thats another command) password-less on the vm.
