I've got a cluster of 9 graylog machines working in a cluster, all deployed
on individual VMWARE boxes.
I am having horrible performance issues, so thought I would try a baremetal
Ubuntu box and install graylog from scratch.
After getting everything configured, I can see that the new node is
participating with the rest of the elasticsearch nodes and is actually the
master for a shard (as seen in the web interface of the existing cluster)
However, the node never appears in the "nodes" section of the cluster
master.
The config files of the +1 node are almost identical to the other
secondaries. Graylog is up and running and the API address is correct.
Firewall is disabled...
is-master is set to false, password secrets are the same. Time is
synchronized
[ServerBootstrap] Services started, startup times in ms:

running.
What could I be missing?
I took a stab at installing chef to use the ruby scripts like on the OVA,
but there doesnt seem to be a good resource for doing that from scratch,
and the graylog-ctl script isnt available in the distro package obtained
via apt-get.
I also don't see any messages from this node on the "Overview" page of the
master...
Any ideas ?
Do I need etcd, ngix like on the OVA's ?
