I'm not sure if this is a bug, or some setup problem I have, or a misunderstanding.
I had a nxlog collector sidecar set up in 2.0.mumble (I see the old kit just says "latest", sorry). It was working, but I wanted to try the arbitrary text add on and installed 2.1 beta 1. After doing so, when I go to the collectors display, I would see a host with my test PC name, and status "Unknown". I am pretty sure there used to be a different status there, and moreover I think I could click on the host name and see something useful. Now I get "Unknown" and "no status information found". So... I thought this was a need for a later version of the sidecar program (maybe I had a mis-match), so I downloaded 0.0.9 for x64. I (eventually) removed the old and cleaned up after the move from (x86), and got it running, and ... still says "unknown". It is working (it was working before I upgraded the sidecar program also). I am able to go into manage configuration. On the chance it was wrong, I deleted the whole configuration and recreated each of the pieces, and got them working again. Data flowing, nxlog's log has data and no errors. When I hit "show collector" it again shows "uinknown". The collector Id file on the PC contains the same id as the collector ID shown on the screen line that shows "unknown". The "Last seen" alternates between "in a few seconds" and "a few seconds ago" (I guess Thiotimoline is invovled somehow). If I stop the collector-sidecar service on the PC, it goes inactive and disappears; I can bring it back by clicking the "Show inactive". It still says status "unknown". start it again, it comes back as active, but still "unknown". Was I supposed to do something different in upgrading that might cause this? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Graylog Users" group.
