An interesting add-on has just been released in version 0.1: Ubiquity. http://labs.mozilla.com/2008/08/introducing-ubiquity/
It really reminds me of Greasemonkey, as a "meta add-on", and seems pretty exciting although I'm still trying to grasp the implications and applications. It's a kind of command-line interface which you can pull from any page with Ctrl+Space (configurable) and lets you perform various commands, such as emailing the text selection, mapping a location, etc. Commands are similar to Greasemonkey userscripts, in that you don't have to restart Firefox to edit and tweak them. Also, they can be installed with one click from a webpage. Finally, they have access to more powerful javascript primitives than regular javascript. This allows the "tab" command to enumerate the tabs and switch the active tab based on the tab title. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Labs/Ubiquity/Ubiquity_0.1_Author_Tutorial I'm curious to see if other Greasemonkey fans are excited about this add-on too.
