Have you checked in Firefox's Addons window? If there's no monkey menu, 
Greasemonkey has likely not been installed at all, and the fault is 
probably Firefox's. Try creating a new profile 
<http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile> and 
see if the solves the problem.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "no frame". Could you expand on 
that, please?
