You've fallen into the classic trap of supplying only far too little
code to explain your problem. In this case:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/document.getElementsByName
getElementsByName() is a method of "the document" or phrased more
generally, of HTML documents. Parsing XML does not give you an object
with the same methods that an HTML document has.
