No. At this point, as far as I'm aware, it's an upstream bug
(reproduced in ~10 lines of code), see:

I only have the smallest inkling of ideas that _might_ be valid
workarounds, but this is the sort of thing that's guaranteed to not have
an estimable timeframe. All I can do is wander around in the dark and
see if I get lucky. At this point I don't know what's really wrong.
