Matt,

You're Brilliant! I set an alert to show me the badWidget, it popped up 
[[badWidget = [object HTMLDivElement]]] and when I hit OK, the entire 'HTML 
element' disappeared. 

I have been trying to do just this with Adblock Plus for aeons. A modicum 
of well placed DOM Kung Fu and it's alive!
