The ECPAT newsletter Adapting to your Needs During the ECPAT Assembly in September 2005, a roundtable was held to discuss communications within the ECPAT network. A topic of particular concern was the ECPAT newsletter. For a few years, this publication has been produced quarterly, and each issue has been devoted to a different theme relevant to the commercial sexual exploitation of children. In this format, the newsletter has produced interesting reading and has been a valuable source of information for readers within and outside the ECPAT family. Feedback received at the Assembly, however, indicated that members of the ECPAT network would like to see more information on the activities of the network itself, and the newsletter as a channel for exchange of knowledge and experience by member groups. Discussions at the Assembly and within the Secretariat have suggested alternating two issues. Therefore, a new format for the newsletter is being developed in which alternate issues of the quarterly will focus on (1) the ECPAT network; and (2) CSEC themes. The roundtable group highlighted that constant feedback is imperative, so that as ECPAT grows, we are able to adapt our communications activities to the informational needs of members and the wider community that is working to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children. It was agreed that the changes proposed for the ECPAT newsletter must be a product of the work of the whole network, and as such will require input and contributions from all members in order to be a truly successful medium for information sharing. Also the group stressed the importance of contributions from all readers, within or outside the ECPAT network. We know that ECPAT groups have extensive experience in many areas that they would like to share with others so we look forward to your ideas and articles. = = = http://www.ecpat.net/eng/Ecpat_inter/IRC/index.asp#5 In March, 1991 ECPAT produced its first Newsletter to announce the launch of the campaign. The International office has continued to publish this newsletter four times a year as a means to provide information on new developments and record the progress of the fight to eliminate commercial sexual exploitation of children. Since January 1999, all issues of the ECPAT International Newsletter have been available online.
