Which is booked already, with ~ 24 companies working, and more construction is being done. Companies are giving rent to government.
What is the cost of 236 Acres of land in Kakkanadu ? Current market price. And how will that change based on some new developments like, Port, Special Economic Zone etc. Govt is investing land for a project which *may* give 33,000 Jobs. What if it didnt ? Compensate with 6,000 Rs per job created ? Kerala govt gives much more subsidy to IT company which creates 1 job. What will be the return for the investment government is making for a project which *may* create 33,000 jobs in 10 years ? 9% Share ? 9% share is not gratis. See offical govt website. 9% govt will have to buy from DIC. Amount will be reduced from 145 cores which govt is supposed to get. (for a 1500 crores program 9% share is 135 crores) ie in this deal the contribution of the state is grossly undervalued. Dubai Internet City is situated inside a special economic zone. as per the law of special economic zone, The Thrikkakara panchayath can't able to collect the Labour tax and building tax from SEZ. Then how the "Trickle down" algorithm will work on this? How state benefit from it? There are other more important political question, which i am not mentioning here. Now another interesting thing is, how come Dubai, Italy, Qatar and many others suddenly came to know that, Down south there is a state called Kerala. Which is ruled by a great king new king, who is the Kaliyuga incarnation of great King Mahabali. Who is so generous that if you go and ask he will give you land from his kingdom to you. Now CM is saying that the Smart city is a project of Govt of Dubai and Govt of Kerala. In that case does Kerala govt obtained clearance from central govt ? WHo was the govt representative from Dubai Internet City (DIC) who met our CM? DIC says that they are independent company not a govt institution. Just that it is supported by Dubai govt. Even if it is a govt program. How come Kerala govt became such a minor partner with just 9% share. After giving a lot of capital to the project ? CM says everything is as per IT Policy. Did he ever read it ? As per IT policy .3 acre should generate 100 job. Ie, 300 acre means nearly 1,00,000 Job. They why are we talking only about 33,000 Jobs ? As per IT policy Smart city is not an IT or ITES company, It is a Private Park. Only subsidy they can claim is investment subsidy. I think the maximum amount is 250 lakhs. That too after the investment is made. How can we trust a CM who tells one lie after other ? Corruption on the scale of Smart City is good. Because we may get job there. What about the majority of Kerala people ? elites take decissions which benfits them. Not most of kerala people. 'Smart City' is 'Smart' 'pro development' it is not corruption. How much benfit did people of Karnataka got from Banglore boom ? How much is the social and financial cost they paid ? How many Banglore will we need to support atleast 50% of Indian population with their basic needs ? Read the frontline article and understand this baseless 'IT Industry'. If you cant trust Frontline, search for MIT's study on the topic. If you dont trust that also. I am sorry. When Janu asked for land for adivasi's to survive they got bullets, When DIC or Liberty group askes they get red carpet and public property.
