'Jala marmaram' Friends, Chalakudi Art Group, a group of painters will gather at Athirappally on 28th and 29th of May, 2005 to protest against the proposed AthirappallyHydal Project in their own creative way ! As you are already aware, the implementation of the proposed project will sound death knell to the twin waterfalls, the most beautiful waterfalls in the southern part of the country. They will vent their feelings through their paintings in the two day camp and exhibit them on 29th of May at Athirappally. The camp will conclude with a public function in which many eminent painters and personalities will participate. Screening of a film based on silent vally/pathrakkadavu issue 'Oru mazhuvinte dooram mathram'( only an axe away), by C. Sarath Chandran & Baburaj will follow the function.
