CenSE (Centre for Social Education), Thrissur is a public charitable
trust, affiliated to the National Youth Foundation Network (NYF) and a
centre of SAMVADA, Bangalore. Initiated eight years ago, CenSE has
been actively working with young people in and around Thrissur,
helping them rethink social justice and involve in initiatives for
social change.
The organisation is looking for
* a Co-ordinator
* a Programme Facilitator.
The two team members will facilitate perspective building and value
orientation among youth helping forge their commitment to a socially
just and ecologically sustainable development paradigm and to a
democratic, plural and secular society. The job involves facilitating
workshops, discussions, exposures and other creative learning
opportunities on issues related to caste, gender, class and religious
community.
The candidates should have an understanding of broad spectrum of
ideologies and participatory training skills. They should be
knowledgeable about people movements in the country. A commitment to
democratic, dialogue process is a must. Fluency in English, apart from
Malayalam, is essential. They should be ready to travel widely with
young people. The age should be preferably between 26 and 32 years.
The selected team will comprise one male and one female team member.
In addition, the Co ordinator will have administrative and leadership
roles to coordinate, budgeting, accounting, programme reporting, team
building and liaison with the Regional Unit of National Youth
Foundation in Bangalore
The team will be based in Thrissur and the salary will be around
Rs.7,000/ for the Programme Facilitator and Rs 9000/- for the
Coordinator with benefits like medical reimbursement, staff welfare fund
etc.
The jobs are for a three year contract with the option of renewing it.
The selected candidates should be ready to join CenSE by September 1, 2005.
