~ Regards Anivar Aravind Films 4 Peace The American President Mr.George Bush is visiting India in March 2006. We have great respect and love for the American society that gave birth to the greats like George Washington, Hemingway and Thoreau. The visit of Bush, however, evokes dark images of a yearning for war, imperialist invasion and excessive consumerism. Unfortunately, we can welcome Bush only by remembering the dark chapters of history. This is the reason why organizations and individuals that work to promote peace have gotten together to create 'Films 4 Peace', against war. The shows are being organized jointly by the Kerala Shastra Sahithya Parishad, the Kerala Swathanthra Matsya Thozhilali Federation, the Kerala Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangam, the Concern for Human Dignity ,and the Federation of Film Societies of India (Kerala Chapter). 1. Still Life These films are being portrayed to advocate anti-war and pro peace messages at Thiruvananthapuram on 26th, 27th and 28th February, ahead of the visit of Bush. Can we dream of a peaceful future sans wars? If these questions force you to ponder, makes you anxious, come, we shall together show these films to the world.
