Order on Kerala HRC issue reserved

The Kerala High Court on Thursday reserved its judgement on two public interest litigations challenging the reconstitution of the State Human Rights Commission by the previous UDF Government.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice VK Bali and Justice M Ramachandran reserved the judgement after hearing the petitioners and the Government.

The PILs were filed by Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, when he was the Opposition leader and social activist Joemon Puthenpurackal.

During the hearing of the case, files relating to the appointment of the acting chairperson, VP Mohan Kumar were called for by the bench.
