Woman alleges custodial torture

Thiruvananthapuram: A 27-year-old woman under treatment at General Hospital here has accused certain women constables attached to the Fort police station of torturing her in custody.
The Fort police had picked up Sindhu of Muttathara on Thursday for questioning in connection with a complaint of theft of gold ornaments.
A person for whom Sindhu was working as a housemaid gave the complaint.
Circle Inspector Fort T.K. Rajmohan denied the allegation that Sindhu was tortured in police custody.
He said the woman was let off with her mother on Thursday evening after being interrogated by the policewomen.
