It is very timely for Kerala. In deep sympathy with the concerns raised in this letter we must raise protest against the appointment of Dr. Venkitesh Athreya an employee of the MSSRF into Kerala's Planning Board as advisor/member. Moreover Dr. Athreya and MSSRF have been taking positions detrimental to the state on issues such as the introduction of iodized salt and ban on indigenous salt production by farmers in India. Their position has been contradictory to the position of LDF in this regard. THIS IS EVEN WORSE THAN APPOINTING MR. P V. UNNIKRISHNAN WHO IS FACING VIGILANCE ENQUIRY FOR CORRUPTION ON THE BASIS OF ALLEGATIONS RAISED BY MR. ACHUTHANANDAN (CHIEF minister)DURING THE UDF REGIME.
