While the contents of the report by poineer news service may be true to some extent, there seems to be nothing to shock as the title of the report suggests.
The people of Marad had already been divided on communal lines after the first out-break of voilence. That the government was neither interested , nor motivated by the resposible people to intervene positively was much evident.
Neverthless, the commision seems to be content with fixing the responsibility with a few muslim league leaders, a Dist Collector and a few others.
The incidents prior and the aftermath of the voilence at the secondary stage was totally disregarded by the commision.The commision unfortunately has ended up with a finding which for all practial purposes exonerates the saffron brigade ,evenwhile these poeople had challenged the" regime of rule of law"for several days, which virtually ousted hundreds of innocent men and women of the muslim community out of thier homes, even their lives threatened....
